What PayGreen can do
We have developed a payment method that implements carbon pricing of COâ‚‚ emissions in online retail transactions without additional costs for consumers.
PayGreen analyzes the ecological footprint of an online store, issues it an eco-label and charges higher or lower transaction fees depending on the size of the COâ‚‚ emissions. This results in a “win-win-win situation”, as there are advantages for online stores, consumers and the environment.

Use of the CrowdInvestment
PayGreen went live with its payment method in summer 2022 and recorded higher user numbers than expected, with very satisfied customers. PayGreen wants to realize the ecological and financial potential with the CrowdInvestment and use it as a first bridge financing until breakeven. The additional capital will be used for the Swiss market expansion and the entry into the German market.
PayGreen payment method comparison
PayGreen is a Swiss alternative to the existing payment methods around credit card, PayPal and Twint. When completing an order in an online store, PayGreen can be selected instead of the conventional methods. To make the payment, it is not necessary to open a new account or register anywhere. The payment is simply carried out by means of QR-bill in e-banking. In addition, other methods, such as on account or by direct debit from the account, will also be offered in the future.
PayGreen is the only payment method that implements a COâ‚‚ price with every transaction - very simply and without additional costs for online stores and consumers. This leads to a reduction in COâ‚‚ emissions. Up to now, payment has mainly been offset – that's exactly what we want to change together!
